Welcome to the Sun! This giant star is 4.6 billion years old. It formed from a cloud of gas called the solar nebula and swirled, eventually collapsing under gravity. It would then flatten out into a disk and become the sun we know. The sun's average temperate is 10,000 degrees Farenheight.
